After many years of failures and bad experiences, HEB teamed up with Flowcrete to improve the performance of the flooring systems in the food processing areas.
The epoxy floors installed at different HEB’s stores and food plants failed due to poor performance under high temperatures and hot oil spills. The floors soon became a safety and hygiene issue.
“We introduced them to the Flowfresh polyurethane concrete technology, a flooring system specifically designed for these type of environments” said Tony Crowell, Flowcrete North America President, who made the first sale to HEB in 2004 and converted this first installation in a successful partnership.
Flowfresh flooring systems have all the characteristics required for the food & beverage industry: exceptional antibacterial resistance (contains Polygiene®, a silver-ion based additive that inhibits the growth of bacteria), superior chemical and temperature resistance, as well as mechanical stress. Flowfresh’s extraordinary slip resistance can be tailored to specific needs and additionally, Flowfresh seamless floors are easy to clean and, with proper maintenance, are developed to last.
Flowfresh HF, RT, MF and CM have been installed in HEB’s meat plants and milk plants as well as demanding areas in the grocery stores such us meat and seafood sections, bakeries and food processing areas, throughout Texas.
Flowfresh products are in more than 100 HEB, Mi Tienda and Joe V’s stores, as well as processing plants, combining new and retrofitted projects. As a result of this partnership, Flowcrete has become the first choice for many HEB vendors, who have experienced the quality of our Flowfresh systems.
